We are running BES version 3.6.7.12 and have about 40 Blackberry users on it. We've tried to add 2 new users - one with a model 7520 and one with a 7100i. We have several users with 7520s that work fine; but these 2 units never display the PIN Number on the BES and their status is **Initializing if we use the Desktop Manager software that came with those units.

We installed an older version on Desktop Manager (4.1.1.9) and got the 7520 to at least relay email. It still has no statistics showing on the BES and status is Initializing (without the asterisks); but it is working. The PIN number is now displayed.

We tried this with the 7100i, but it still won't work. The PIN will now display, but that's it. Status is still **Initializing and it won't relay email.

We have spent a total of 8 1/2 hours on the phone with Blackberry support and came up with the old desktop software on our own. Is it just that these newer model Blackberries will not function on the older BES software?

Nope; we have many newer models on a 3.6 BES running just fine.

Thanks for confirming that. I had hoped that the newer models would work with our BES.

I don't know what else to try to get this 7100i to work.

Can anyone explain the difference between Initializing and **initializing?
