Default Problem upgrading my bold

Please Login to Remove!

I recently purchased a new blackberry bold. I really want to use the chinese input feature so I download one of the device OS (155) from CSL, my bold is using OS(134) from Rogers. The desktop manager won't let me upgrade the device even after i install the new OS to my computer and delete the vender.xml file,it keep saying there's no required software upgrade. what else should I do in order to upgrade my bold to a OS from different carrier? Do I need to unlock my rogers bold first or ? is there anything I can do?

Thanks

Wirelessly posted (8310; RammerJammer!)

"VendOr.xml".
Search your entire c: drive and delete all.

And you will need it unlocked for the new SIM of another carrier.

I still want to use my Rogers sim, do I really need to perform unlock to my device in order to install the new OS from other carrier?

I used to have blackberry 8130(cdma) version I didnt require unlocking to install other OS

I am little confused here

thank you

No, just delete the vendor xml as JSanders said. It's all in the FAQ under the file download location ont his forum under latets OS. Just follow that.

Probably DO need an unlock to use different carrier's sim cards.

You're on Rogers. No need to unlock.
