Why can't RIM make a decent battery? My wife's 9700 which is 2 1/2 years old lasts for almost 3 days and my 9900 lasts for less than 10 hours. I have turned everything down and keep checking for open apps. I have even resorted to not using wifi and bluetooth.
I even tried to limit how much I talk on my BB. I just check and reply to emails, use BBM and then use my desk phone instead of my BB to get more battery juice. It's crazy that by the end of the day, my battery is already dead, it's brutal.
You can't compare a 9700 with a 9900. I had a 9700 and hardly ever used the browser because, well, it was basically useless. So no wonder that the battery lasted for a few days. With the 9900, it depends on how I'm using it. I spent a few days in london, using the camera, google maps, email, etc. and blew through the battery pretty quickly. (That was on os 7.) Not using the phone like that, the battery lasts much longer.
Mine lasted at most a day, and that was just with e-mail, some SMS, and maybe 20 mins. of calls. If I had to tether, I had to connect it to my Juicepack.
One point to keep in mind, Lithium batteries DO NOT like to get below 20% on a regular basis. Doing so can and will damage the battery and force you to replace it. In my use, they seem to work better if you keep it topped off when near a power source.
