I admin a BES 4.1.3 running on Lotus Domino 7.0.2 on Windows NT 5.2, I did not originally set up the BES, so I have a few questions.

How do I check what is being backed up nightly? What should I be backing up?
What should I backup before an upgrade from say 4.1.3 to 4.1.4?

Is there any tracking tools or useful Admin tools out there for the BES?

-SQL does a daily backup
-you dont really need to do a backup for the upgrade but it wouldnt hurt, take less than a minute because 4.1.4 overwrites 4.1.3 and upgrades the database basically
-i use open source tools (nagios) if you know linux to monitor my windows/exchange and BES services

no probs, searchs can be a pain at times, check out the thread i posted.

You need to backup the BESMgmt database whether your using SQL or MSDE. You should also backup every in the BES directory and sub-directories.

For the upgrade at minimum you should backup the BESMgmt database.

Per your link, where do I find the "enterprise manager", I do not see that anywhere...would it be in a data folder within RIM? Wheres is the BESmgmt database located? Anything to be watchful for in going from 4.1.3 - 4.1.4.

The BESMgmt database is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data
