Default Ptt

FYI

For anyone interested in PTT (my company uses for everyone who isn't a Blackberry user), it is now listed as an available feature on our account for this device.

I've added it to mine, but I am still trying to figure out how to get to it. I will probably put the official release on my device instead of the leak. Maybe there are some differences since the file name on the leak had been edited.

Default Lock with Convenience Key?

Can someone confirm if you can still lock with a side convenience key? I upgraded my wife's 8530 recently and lost this feature, which is pretty annoying!

Here's another link if not pushed to your desktop manager.

I got an email from BlackBerry this morning
Quote:
A new software update is available for your BlackBerry smartphone.
When I plug in and click the link in the email, it launches Application Loader which shows me this:

Looks like I got something to do today now :P

I had the leaked .591 on. When I downloaded from the VZW site to see if it was different, it was. Loader wanted to change the Applications but everything else got left alone.

Just got off the phone with VZW Tech Support. I called about PTT because there was no app available for it. I initially got the "PTT isn't supported on the Tour" from first level. Then I said - "Oh yes it is. You have it all over your website". Got a case number and they called back about 5 minutes later very apologetic (an upper level support person) stating they were having some issues with the website for application center and with the help pages, and it would be rectified shortly and just try again in a while.

I did and was able to download the PTT app and it is working great so far.

As for the lock on the convenience key, yes it works.

Still checking out the other stuff.

Anyone setup for PTT yet? I haven't been able to test it out yet.

Believe the correct link is BlackBerry® Software Updates

(It's vzam . net, not .com)

At least, that's what the Verizon site links me to.

I upgraded OTA last night. Some people are reporting that if you have anything other than 4.7, you don't get the wireless upgrade option.

I upgraded this AM and now my Tour won't go into stand by when I push the Mute button. Anyone else run into this?

I've restarted and pulled the battery already

From what I've read by people who had .591 on as a leak, the changes to the top buttons are by design. I know in the release from Verizon they talk about the change to the lock button:

"Simplified key-lock functionality. A password is no longer needed
unless a security timeout has occurred.'

I never use standby, so I wouldn't know about the other button. Only used it for mute during a call.

So far, so good. The boot time doesn't seem to be much improved, but the phone is a bit smoother.

So If I start Desktop mangler, Ap loader, and don't get the "available update"as above, does this mean that I need to download it from the link?
