Also, does Verizon make any hardware changes to phone in the first few months to fix problems our just fix problems with OTA software updates?

Thanks!
I say JUST DO IT! I did.

It depends on you. I am personally torn -- but while I wouldn't mind the extra features, my Tour is working nicely right now so am not in a big hurry. If I were really unhappy with my current phone, I probably would have ordered it Wednesday. (I'll probably go ahead and order it if my brother starts reminding me that he offered to buy the Tour to replace his Storm II as soon as I upgrade. But he won't realize the new BB is out until I tell him.)

Also, unless there is something major wrong, I would not expect any hardware changes to fix problems.

No. If you did a one year, you can update after 10 months which was May 12, which I did.

Does anyone know if this new 9650 will be capable of having the 6.0 OS or the Web Kit Browser when they come out?

My vote would have been yes, but my Bold 9650 is on its way.
Replacement for my Tour 9630. Seems VZW has had their fill
of the trackball problem. May not work for everyone, but mine
had been replaced before.

Not necessarily.....$149 is a great price for a brand new phone. What are the conditions that you would get it under? If I could get one for that price and didn't mind signing a new 2 year contract (which I'm assuming would be required), I'd probably take it if offered. If you told me I could get it at that price with a one year contract, I'd sign today.

I had a trackball issue on my Tour and VZW is sending me a Bold 9650 as a replacement because the Tour 9630 is not in stock. Looks like a free upgrade for me! I am excited about the trackpad.

10 months to go on current 2 year contract, new 2 year which would extend it out to 2 years to go.

Not sure if VZW is out of the 9630 or just tired of all the replacements that they had to do. My new Bold 9650 arrived yesterday, works like a charm.
Came in new box with all accesories, just like you would get in store.
Only thing I noticed is that it seems to use up a lot of the 512mb memory.

Did you call Customer Service or Warranty Center?
800-406-5154
Customer Service gives you a run around, Warranty Center, as least the one I talked to, is totally sick of the 9630 trackball problem.
Good Luck!

I called customer service and navigated to the tech support guys. He didn't give me run around just said they got more stock of the reburbs in so had to send me that one. Even got my hopes up cause he said they have been out and could send me a Bold. But alas they got more.

Calling Warranty Center direct, he didn't care if they had a 9630 or not, just told me he was sending out the new Bold 9650. Call them in a couple of weeks after you get the phone!!
