Sounds nice, if it does rdp, then thats great.

This is for me one of the key applications for me.

Mac:
There is, and there will be never a thing like rdp for Macintosh, unless apple changes their OS. The mac does AFAIK not support the transfer of UI elements, it only is able to tranfers pixels.
You have to use VNC or a similar solutions (like apple remote desktop)

It works really well. Only over wi-fi, from the looks of it; working over Bridge would be really cool.

Take a look at Rove Mobile Admin. It comes at a price, but it's brilliant. You can use your BlackBerry to manage just about everything in a server environment via a native BlackBerry app, but there is also a web client which works perfectly on the Playbook browser. If your Playbook is bridged with your BES-linked BlackBerry, the Playbook can connect directly into your Rove Mobile Admin web client, and thus manage everything too, no VPN needed (it goes in via the BES server).

If it just would work over the bridge - that is all I need.

otherwise the programm is fine and works good.

I think the wifi would work better and smoother rather then the bb bridge, just my opinion. Maybe why they haven't enabled it for that yet just for thetime being. I am sure we will see bridged connects available in future releases though

If there is something really urgent to do, I dont care if the display quality is less.
RDP works ok even with a 48kbit Dial-up connection, if you reduce colors to 8bit, no sound, no printer redirection. If you have a BB with 2G/Edge, it still should be possible to use the software.
And, if you are connected to a BES, you could use rdp through the trusted BES connection to any machine inside your company network - no need for an additional VPN.

OK all, just installed this on my PB, based on the positive feedback....but the app won't launch. I tap, it pops up & immediately closes. I deleted & reinstalled once so far.

PB OS 1.0.7.3312 (and has been rebooted - but not fully powered off since install)

I haven't installed the 1.0.8.6067 upgrade becasue a lot of people reported issues with wifi after doing that.

EDIT - OS update fixed it. Now I need a VPN to work. Sigh.

Thanks

I use the telnet/ssh app to create a secure tunnel to my home pc then use the rdp app to connect. It works good.

rdp is safe, I dont know about security problems with this protocol, and personally never had a problem. If you redirect some random port on your external network to 3389 on your home PC, and if your password is not weak, that should also do.

But still you need WiFi.

So much to my surprise...after the OS update, the VPN on my PB actually works! Finally...access to my servers from my PB! Happy Camper here!
