Default phone speed and restart time

Please Login to Remove!

My blackberry takes about 3 minutes to restart, and sometimes operates rather slowly. I understand that this isnt a PC im dealing with, but I was wondering if anyone had tips on getting it to run as fast as possible. Right now I'm deleting applications and themes that I dont usually use, will this help?

Under status it says it has 6541230 bytes free
i have v4.5.0.81 OS (not the T-mobile one)
I have a 4GB memory card

any suggestions on optimizing speed?

Seems to me that the startup is slower than it was under 4.2, but I didn't time it. I am not sure if startup time is affected by the number of third party programs on there, but I've wiped my phone 3 times in the last several months and I don't recall thinking "wow that was a fast startup."

ohh nice link, thanks

yea start-up time probably quadrupled from 4.2 to 4.5 for me.
but i actually use the video recorder and player, so its worth it. It just sucks if you have to restart (I probably have to once a day)

A small update ..i donno whether or not it will help you or not but I had .52 for sometime and I did find my berry was a little bit groggy although I did not have much 3rd part apps. I would suggest upgrading to .81 and uninstalling some of the 3rs party apps which you perhaps have but do not use.
