If you interupt the process you will brick your device. It does take a while but it opens up a good bit of memory!

I too have been working on this same KILL/Remove_PTT thing and following along with everyones suggestions. Was doing really well until what seemed to be a "forever wait", and just as I was about to do something really stupid, (not that I need that award...) it finally completed the reboot process and it was at that time that I realized (again) that a little patience as they say goes a long way.....

Good to get that out of the way, replaced by a great feeling once I noticed how much memory it freed up!

Thanks to everyone who provided the great notes and suggestions, as I too struggled at the beginning.
