On the off chance that the OP is a complete rookie, here are some basics:
BlackBerry data (email, internet, bbm, etc) have to come through a BlackBerry data plan, not a generic carrier data plan. That's either BIS (personal use devices) or BES (corporate enterprise server at work).
When you first turn on a BlackBerry you're *supposed* to already have one of these BlackBerry data plans active on your account. If you don't have the BIS plan, the only option you will see is the Enterprise Activation (BES - corporate) and the option to set up a work email account. Once you get a BIS (personal use) plan on your account you'll see the option to add other accounts and you won't be hounded to complete Enterprise Activation. You'll also get the icon for internet. Note: you only need one or the other, either BIS or BES. Not both.
If you are trying to use a work-provided BES connection, the admins at your company will help you set it up. You need info from them to complete BES activation.
i have the bes password, however i get to a certain point when they ask for a mapi or something like it and i don't have it.I am a sole user so I do not have a TI to help me.I work for a religious organization and I need the enterprise server in order to filter the internet on a program i want to buy.I have owned a blackberry for two weeks and so far itis very frustrating
