Default How long to receive activation email?

Please Login to Remove!

I just installed BESX on Server 2008 SP2 /Ex. 2007 and all seems to have gone fine. I have added myself as a user and set it up to send activation email. However, I have not received it yet. I used BES a long time ago and much has changed, but one thing I remembered was that it didn't seem to take so long to activate.

How long does this usually take and what can I check if I do not get it? Thanks!

Are you sure you have an Enterprise data plan ? wireless activation does not work without this.
If the email does not arrive within minutes activation wil fail.

You normally wont see the activation mail. The BES grabs it before your see it in your inbox. You have to read the logs of the BES to check if it arrived.

The only way I know to test for the activation mail without reading the logs is to shutdown all BES services, then, try an activation on the Blackberry.

If the activation messages does not arrive within minutes, check If your device has been provisioned for an Enterprise data plan,
check/disable all antispam/antivirus software running on server or the client, or on a third party email relay server
temporarily disable all outlook rules

If you get your mail not delivered by SMTP to the exchange server but by some polling mechanism like the pop-connector of exchange SBS:
try activating the blackberry. Immediately tell the pop-connector to manually collect mail every 30 seconds.
