Default Blackberry deleting items automatically

Please Login to Remove!

I have a use that when he recieves certain messages his exchange mailbox will get the message, and outlook will even show it fine. But when the phone syncs up, it will mark it as read and move it to the deleted box even before it has been viewed on Outlook or on the handheld.

This dosn't appear to effect all emails, just some of them, and I have tested it a few ways and confirmed that it is as soon as it syncs it gets deleted.

I have confirmed that the user isn't doing anything to the message, and hasn't even opened it for viewing on the phone.

He is on an 8330m phone, with software version 4.5
We are running BES 5.0.1, with Exchange 2007.

Could it be a rule setup on the users mailbox. I see a similar thing with messages that I have moved to my junk mail folder. They will appear on my BB inbox but will disappear when I reconcile.

Are you talking about a Blackberry rule, or somethign else? I have verified that as long as the BB isn't syncing, everything works as expected.

did you mean " phone sync " is using desktop manager ?

No, all users are using only BES.

I was working with a user and had his phone turned off. The emails came in as expected and I verified on the server, they showed up in the inbox (Through OWA). I then started Outlook, and confirmed the same thing. The email was unread and in the Inbox.

Once the phone was started back up, and began to sync with the server through BES, the email would show on the phone and then on the workstation and server, it would be moved directly to the deleted items (unread).

I would undo any filters or rules on the user's mailbox and then test

On the BB device check:

Messages options > Email reconciliation > On conflicts: Mailbox wins

Messages options > Email filters > No filters should be checked
