Default Upgrade to 5.0.1

Please Login to Remove!

I currently have a very simple BES setup of ver 4.1.6.15 on Win2k3 sp2, w/SQL 2005 on the same server. Less than 100 users. Exch 2007 sp1.
I have a BB Router in the DMZ.

I plan to do an inplace upgrade to 5.0.1. In looking over the steps, it doesn't seem that complicated. Will everything, indeed, just transition over?

I push one simple application to devices. Will that be affected at all?

Any other gotchas?

Thanks for the info!

It depends. How are you planning to do this migration? What is your process?

In-place upgrade of the current server. I was basically just going to take the users down and run setup.

I would suggest a new software configuration in the new environment. While it will not affect users that already have the software, it will affect the new users for the push. Starting a fresh config is my preference. Also, check your settings on the current software config as well as your IT-policy. The new BES O/S seems to be more finicky about security and what passed in 4.x may not fly in 5.0. Therefore, check with your vendor for BES 5.0 compatibility.

Good luck.
