We have two BES servers. One version 5.0 where we currently have 35 active users on one server and about 50 users on an older 4.1 sbe install we are migrating from.

We have been given an upgrade key to convert our sbe licenses to enterprise licenses which apparently needs to be installed before any other licenses. So we need to remove all licenses from the bes 5 server, install the upgrade license and then re-enter the licenses we currently have in the system.

My question is, is this couple minutes of interruption without any keys in the system going to have an adverse impact on currently activated users? If there is interruption, will it require users to re-activate their device or anything like that or will they simply their access for a few minutes if they try and check-in/sync with the server during the period where not enough keys are available?

We dont really have a way to test this.

Just copy the CALs over to the upgrading server. You dont have to remove them if you are moving the users over for a short time.

The CALs are on the honour system anyway.
