Default blackberry.net charges again

Please Login to Remove!

Have searched the forums but can't fins a specific answer to my question. The charges are minimal so it's not a big deal but I just started to notice on my current bill that blackberry.net is transmitting data at times when I am asleep - like 4:30AM. I assume it is some b/g process and am trying to figure out which. I DO use Blackberry Protect but I've been using that for a while and two days ago was the first time I've seen the blackberry.net usage.

The majority of my usage on the Torch is either phone or email - neither of which use bb.net.

The transfers are typically 3Kb to 13Kb in size.

Anyone have any idea what application is doing this?

Thanx,

Vic

You really should contact your carrier and ask them...

AT&T polls cell phones at night to verify data usage during the day. That's likely what is going on, and if that's in fact what's happening, you should not be charged for those sessions. AT&T made a comment on unknown data usage at night some time ago:

This is a routine update of your daily data activity on your device to ensure the accuracy of your data billing. Customers are not charged for data usage, given that no data session is generated. It's not uncommon for devices that are always on, like iPhone, to process data event records for billing purposes after a certain amount of inactivity or after long periods of time. It's also separate from how our system lets you monitor your data consumption.

Blackberry Protect will do a backup at odd times. You can set it to use WIFI and see if the cell data use goes away.
