Is the track ball on the Javelin black? I've seen a few pictures now where it looks like its black.

It sure looks that way, at least we won't have to worry about it getting dirty anymore...

The Javelin looks like it will be lighter. Also the four buttons (call, menu, back, end call) aren't ginormous like they are on the Bold.

I'd get a Javelin if it had 3G. I just hope that there is a 3G Javelin (probably 9300-series) sometime within the next year. RIM, why no 3G on the Javelin? One RIM's hallmarks is battery life but I am willing to trade battery life for 3G.

Thanks, that's a great comparison pic! Is there a rough estimate for a release date yet?

Hmm, size wise, I prefer the Javelin over the Bold.

I agree...but if we could somehow combine the best of the two...

we could rule the world!

I agree. I am infatuated with the Bold, but once I did more research on the Javelin, I may have to hold out for the Javelin. I am a Pearl user and small form factor is very important to me.

There was something posted about the fact that the Javelin for TMo would, in fact, be 3G. I'm not sure how true that is but it would be the combination of the two that everyone wants. I don't really care about 3G since I don't live where it would be beneficial but it would be "neato."

There was a rumor on crackberry about a "9220" that would basically be a Javelin with 3g. I dont buy it because if that is the case, why even have a 9000? If it does exist I think it would have to be another half generation away in the BB lifecycle at least.
