Default My New Rogers 8900 =)

Please Login to Remove!

Fresh from the Rogers Store! Woo!

Comes with OS v4.6.1.94. Sweet upgrade from my 8300. It has the same size, but lighter and thinner. I have to admit the 8300 feels more solid (I don't know how I'd feel if I dropped this), but the aluminum trim around the sides gives me some piece of mind.

They seemed to have moved the sleep magnet, because it doesn't quite work in my 8300 case. I guess I'll need to buy a new one. The new USB port interface kinda sucks, it makes me have to rebuy all my accessories.

The keyboard feels "smoother", but has less of a discrete click when typing.

I want to go to the store and just get it. I don't want to wait 3-5 business days =(. Nuts, less discrete typing noise level? Gonna be harder to send texts in class =/.

I meant the keyboard is quieter then the 8300. But the keys don't feel as discrete when you push them down. I also find the keys are not as tall, they are flatter than the old 8300.

Have you tried the Bold's keyboard? Similar to that?

Now I wish I had just gone to a store instead of ordering over the phone.

I could be playing with a new 8900 all weekend!

Picked mine up this morning. I like the keyboard better than the 8320 Curve by a wide margin. I also find it slower than my Bold but I sort of assumed this. Can't wait to figure out how to get UMA going on my router. It will have to wait though (lots to do today).

Here's some more photos, now that it's daylight (the last ones were taken at 12:50-ish AM lol), there's more details.

They keyboard is great, don't get me wrong. I think I just have to get used to it. The "Shift" Key is a lot smaller lol

I have it hooked up to Wifi on my router, but I haven't done more than just surf yet.

Verizon's 9530 is the same way, I think it makes more sense for the branding to go on the back since that is what most others will see of the phone when you are talking or typing on it.
