I have upgraded my device to a 8800 from Cingular, and I was under the impression that this would be able to play .wav files, but when I get an e-mail with them as an attachment, I am unable to play them. Our BES is version 4.0.6.7. The distiller shows them in the attachment service, but they don't mail. Can anybody point me in the right direction.

is .wav listed in your format extension list? do you have the option to play the wav file or does it just fail to play?

Unless it was added to BES 4.0.6 or BES 4.0.7, then the lowest version to support .wav file attachments is BES 4.1.0; and for .mp3, it's BES 4.1.3. The handheld OS must be OS 4.2.0 and above (Pearl and 8800; soon to be 8700 and others).

Actually .wav is in my extension list, but when the message comes to the handheld, it says there is an attachment, but there is no paperclip and the attachment can not be played. I am using a brand new 8800 from cingular, and our BES is 4.0.6.7.

BES 4.0.6.7 works. I just ahd to add the attachment type to the connector configuration tab. We did not have wav as one of them.
