Default Uploading Contacts?

Please Login to Remove!

I am embarrassingly new to the Blackberry World, having just received my Curve 8530 (for Verizon) today. It's my first smartphone, having upgraded from a "dumbphone." In the past, I've been able to login to My Verizon online and send my contact list to my new phone. However, it doesn't seem to be working on the Blackberry. I'm dreading the thought of having to type all that info in by hand on the phone. Is there some software somewhere? I figured the Desktop Software from Blackberry would have it, but it only seems to work if you're uploading from one Blackberry to another. Help??

Desktop Manager is for Synchronizing. The contact goes in Outlook and DM syncs the contacts between Outlook and BlackBerry.

I don't think Verizon's contact backup feature works with BlackBerry's, if I remember right.

Do you have you contacts stored somewhere else, like Microsoft Outlook? If so, just like x12 said, you can use the desktop manager to sync your contacts with your Outlook to your new BlackBerry.
If not and you still have your old phone, try stopping a Verizon store. Usually, they can transfer your contacts from an old phone to a new one with their software.

Don't worry, you will soon find out why people call them "crackberry's" once you get the kinks worked out and get used to it.

you can use MiQ application, it's free and available in app world.
It syncs your contacts, messages, calls, photos, videos and calendar with a frontend provided by the application developers.
ATTENTION: this is a bidereccional sync.If you delete a contact and sync with Miq, you will lose that contact in MiQ frontend.
