Default Desktop Manager Backup Not Saving Profiles

Please Login to Remove!

I did post a similar question in the 9000 forum but only got one reply - surely this is an OS issue rather than device specific.

I am running a Bold 9000 with V5.0.0.681 with Desktop Manager 5.0.1.37 (mar 10, 2010) and I have custom sound profiles (ie what rings when - no custom ring tones installed). On my older 8700R (v4.6) and when I ran 4.6 on my 9000 I was able to back up these but now I dont see any saved in my backup file on the 9000 if I try and do a selective restore from file.

I do have a 'loader backup' (auto backup during an upgrade) from this 9000 when I believe I upgraded to V5 and that has 11 profiles shown (greyed out if I try a restore), but every new backup I now do doesnt have any profiles.

Are they called something different in V5 ? Also I cant restore the profiles from this file as they are greyed out when I attach the 9000 (but I can restore them to a 8700R from that same file - so me thinks its the 9000's software upgrade ?)

Thanks in advance.

When you create profiles on a Berry you were always able to save them and transfer them to another phone. What I am saying is that my backup files on my 9000 running V5 dont contain any profiles that are saved. And I have created four or five new custom sound profiles...

Doesnt anyone else have any comments on this ??/

The only comment I have is that I can confirm what you are seeing. When I open an old backup file from my 8310, I can see the "profiles" database and it is grayed out. However, backups from my 9000 do not show the "profiles" database as being included.

I am wondering(as you already indicated) that maybe they are being stored in a different database.

EDIT: - 09:43 AM - @swifty - I am pretty sure now that the profiles database is called "sounds". I created a new test profile and the "sounds" database incremented by one. I then removed the test profile and the "sounds" database decremented by one. Hope that clears it up.

EDIT: - 10:20 AM - for anyone reading this, the term "database" above is the one within DM Backup and Restore Advanced.
