I also replaced the white track with the G1 black one. I dumped that after a day also- no back light shows through the black one.
I was not able to transfer the black battery latch to the original spring which is not included with the black battery button. My silver battery latch button was sonically welded to the spring. Has anyone been successful in removing this? I sent CNN a note.
Jim
Update: CNN did send me a separate spring and now I could mount the black battery button if I ever decide to reinstall the total blackout look.
THANKS CNN!

Just slowly pull it out. The tabs are a soft plastic and won't break.

Anyone know where I can get replacement meshes for the microphone and speakerphone hole at the top?

I transplanted the microphone mesh, but the speakerphone mesh was damaged during removal.

Update - The device seems to be working fine with only the one mesh around the microphone. Would still like to find replacement meshes though.

Second question - Just got in the replacement keyboard from CNN, the one with the red numbers. Anyone have this keyboard and realize that the "send", "end" "berry" button and the "back" button have almost no "push" to them? Did I just get a bad keyboard? Should I ask for a replacement?

when I installed my keyboard, I had no problem with keys. They preformed equal to or greater than the stock.

As I recall, it's stuck on with double-sided tape. Just gently pry it up.

joju58, how is the quality of this piece? Looks interesting, considering it has all the buttons in black (although you have to purchase the battery cover button separately). Never heard of this dealer, so I am hesitant to purchase from them.

Places like this that talk about shipping from the US but have poor English text on their site make me nervous. Throwing around the term "OEM" for everything when it clearly isn't OEM also makes me nervous.
