Anyone know why the phone call logs are so huge on the BB/BES? When doing an activation - after a f/w upgrade in this case - the sync. of the phone call logs from the server is ticking past an hour now and its only half done. I've noticed it before and delete the phone call logs before upgrading the handheld. For whatever reason they weren't removed from BES this time and here I sit. Absurd!

You can purge PIM sync backup data if you need to speed this process up. That will dump the phone logs (and everything else unfortunately). I've complained to RIM about this in the past and suggested they break that out of the purge into it's own command. I'm not holding my breath :^ )
