Default New BB 7250 wont charge or turn back on

Please Login to Remove!

My boss handed me his BB this morning to charge it and wont charge, ive moved around to multiple plugs and when you plug it in the red light turn on for about 5 seconds and then nothing. a small battery icon sometimes shows up in the corner with lightning bolt next to it.

Ive removed and repaced the battery, i dont know what else to do...

at first it looked like it would start to initialize... then the screen would go black. it did this in succession 5 or 6 times but now its not doing anything at all. HELP!

This has happened to me many times. I have my 7250 set to run from 6am to 6pm and somedays it discharges after one day/night and other days it runs for days. No idea on what is going on. When I can't charge, like you mention above, we have ONE 'special' blackberry which always charges the batteries. I don't know what is special about it, but it charges them all. So, we just do a quick battery swap. It is really annoying!

When I have time I'm going to check the firmware on the blackberry to see if it is different then the others.

What you are describing is typical of a battery that has been thoroughly discharged and does not have enough power to run the BlackBerry hardware.

The small battery/lightening bolt icon indicates that the hardware is powered off and the battery is charging. I have often seen units that will display this icon but cannot be powered up (even when plugged into AC power) until the battery has been left to charge for several minutes.

I would leave the unit plugged in for an hour or so and then try to power it on while still connected to the AC.

rdw: As an alternative to using a particular BlackBerry handset to charge all of your batteries it may be worthwhile investing in an external battery charger; this would save you tying up a potentially useful handset with the mundane task of battery-charging.
