I am running MS Exchange 5.5 SP4 with BES 4.0. Our company has 9 7290's. The other day we noticed we wasn't receiving email on our handhelds but was in Outlook. I goto BlackBerry Manager and noticed the SRP Status was Disconnected and a red circle with a white x was placed on my BES server name. I tried the knowledge base article KB-04186 from blackberry.com which says to validate the BES is connected by using the BBSrpTest.exe program. And to make sure the Network Access Node value in the registry is set to localhost. Both these resolutions checked out. I am still getting SRP Status Disconnected with no activity on our BlackBerrys. What to do?
Also, would reinstalling the BES cause mayhem to the handhelds?
If you reinstall the BES you'll have to go through a whole mess of crap with the handhelds. Check your filewall settings to make sure you can see out through port 3101. Also contact your vendor with the SRP Identifier and SRP Authentication key as they will be able to send this info to RIM and get the status of your SRP confirmed on the RIM relay system. There could be a few things to blame here, but I think the two things above should be your first port of call.
I accidentally set up a second BB server when trying to install the management tools on a workstion. It prompted me for my SRP code during the install and like a fool I put it in. The next thing I knew people were calling and saying they weren't getting e-mail to and from their BBs. I checked and the server's status was SRP Disconnected. I called RIM at 877-255-2377. They said we were DISABLED from their end, and that RIM, not our carrier, would have to fix it. I'm listening to their musical hold right now. The first guy is transfering me to the guy who can fix it. After an hour of musical hold, the second guy had me send my SRP information and turned the service back on. He had me bounce the Router and Dispatcher service on the server.
Hope this helps. If you get this errror, call RIM at once!
