Right, and I'm in that same boat. I was just surprised to see so many Cingular users wanting the 7130 when they can get the 8700..

Well, that's it, although I dont know why it has Suncom listed on the screen. The Cingular version that I saw might be a little different, but then again it could just be my eyes playing tricks. My initial opinion, "yuck"

Why not make a slicker device. The 7100g looks alot better than that. I love features, but beauty and technology have to go hand in hand. Redesign the shell and then I'll think about switching.

Default I'll consider it but...

Only if we can work out a $5 unlimited plan with free Blackberry Data Service and a free phone...if that's not too much to ask!

I like the look of it. My only worry is that the keys are too close together. The key spacing on the 7130e is perfect.

I think this by far looks like the BEST 7100 series I have seen. Looks clean, classy and very sexy

I agree with you boygenius...

I just got the 8700c yesterday. I'd like to return the unit and wait for this beauty to come out...

Somebody please tell me approximately when is this available?

As long as it can be slightly slimmer and all black & silver with the same keypad contrast, then I'm for it as an alternative to my upcoming 8700g (1.5mths away; mulling data charges & changing carriers).

Right now it looks too much like a PPC smartphone.

One thing RIM has been aware of in the last year of development is the quality of the plastics. Their intention with the 7130 was to make it a high quality looking device and it's certainly a better quality build than the 7100. What I find odd is how the plastics vary from carrier to carrier. My 8700v for example is a nice looking, good quality shell (in my opinion), however, the 8700g varient has a much cheaper look in my opinion. We'll have to see what happens with this one.

Ive played around with it for a while and it is pretty good, battery life is better due to screen being a little smaller. Pretty much the same size as a 7100 but slimmer and alot lighter.

My exact thought... I like it a lot... too bad it'll be forever before t-mo gets it (if ever) and I don't feel like dealing with unlocking.

You lucky you...
Tell me does it have EDGE?

I am completely sold on the design of this beauty. If it has EDGE then I am going to return my 8700c and wait for this.
