Default 9700 and Call Forwarding

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I just tried to have my Blackberry calls forwarded to my land line and when I select "Call Forwarding" under Phone Options, it says please wait and the blue bar goes across, then nothing. It doesn't give me a list of numbers to choose from like my previous Blackberry phones had. Am I missing something? Please help. I like this feature from time to time.

Thanks

as these settings are network based, give it a try again... sometimes the network times out...

alernatively, just dial this when u want to forward *004*ten digit number# and talk

for example, if i wanted to fowrard to 1 (432) 657-8712 then the action would be *004*14326578712# talk

look for confirmation that it accepted conditional call forwarding... to undo, dial this ##004#

if you cant get into your options for forwarding, create address book entries called forward and unforward and store those commands as a number... just navigate to them and press talk, tada!

I am having the same problem! Trying all different numbers, ie 1XXXXXXXX, +1XXXXXXXX, xxx-xxx-xxxx, etc.

Nothing so far, tried all day yesterday and this morning a couple of times!

Thanks for the manual method info. I still want it to work the normal way. I called Tech Support they said it was not on their end. The deleted the feature and added it back, sent service books and still nothing. They said to exchange it. Before i do that, I am going to wipe the device and start from there. I will let you know how that goes.

I wiped and then installed the AT&T OS. No luck. Tried the newest OS posted here and still no luck. I was taking it back to the store and though "what about the SIM card?" I told the rep and he said let"s try. When he tried to setup a new sim card it gave problems, because I never called AT&T to do the switch from my old Bold. So he had to call it in to activate it. So between calling in to activate the phone or getting a new sim card. It works now. Hope you have the same luck.

the manual method is actually fewer steps once its setup than going into phone options each time... just fyi for those who may be interested in the easiest method.

Now that I have the phone working glitch free, I tried your method and that is what I will be using from now on. I added a few Call Forward contacts with the location after it ie. Call Forward Home or Call Forward Office and the a Call Forward CANCEL. Great tip. Thanks.

I don't think it is the phone, it is 5.0 OS. I had the same problem when I was running my 9000 Bold on 5.0 and figured that it must be something between 5.0 and AT&T not being ready for it yet. I hope they can fix it. In the meantime I am trying to get used to the *004 shortcut.

Did you try a new SIM card. They can go goofy after awhile. Since I put the new card in its been working perfectly.

Turns out I like the*004 shortcut better any how. But I did want the phone to work the wau it ois supposed to.

I had no problems setting mine up using the phone options menu on my ATT 9700 with OS 5. In fact, I just opened the menu again and there they are... here is a screen shot

I have a new SIM card installed and activated and it still does not work through the menu. I see all the menu options and when I select the number I want to use, it just dials *21* and then gives me a message that there is a network error. Very strange.

Default Call forward issue

I get the *21* dialing when I use the menu. When i use the dial direct method, screen displays sucess message, but CF does not work.

**UPDATE**
Spent much time on phone with ATT Tech. Helpful, but we never figured out the problem. They can set CF from their end, and it works perfectly. Tried various numbers, adding +1 to my forward number I can not do it from the phone. They recommend I get another phone. I doubt it is the phone though as others have same problem.

##21# to disable CF

Problem solved. I upgraded to the new 5.0.0.405 beta and SMS is fixed and Call Forwarding now works perfectly through the menu!
