Default 9550 - Storm 2 Question

Please Login to Remove!

I have been running my Storm 9530 since the release. I have been through a couple replacements but my current refurbished version runs just wonderful with 5.0.0.419 and the BBampd theme by Natemz.

I will soon be able to get an upgrade and may consider going to the Storm 2.

I have to ask all Storm 2 owners if I should wait a while or transition to the Storm 2. I am reading there are a few issues with frequent rebooting due to a design flaw.

What say you fellow BBF members?

Take the leap. I had the 9530 from release and had updated to the 5.0 OS right before the release of the 9550. I struggled with spending the money but I am glad that I did. It is a completely different animal. This is what the phone should have been when it was first released.

I am currently running the leaked .428 OS and I am experiencing no quirks or problems. The screen operates and feels much better. There is no need to constantly be aware of your free memory. I could go on and on.

Make the switch...

I went from Storm to Storm2 just because... well... frankly I don't know why. I am one of 'those' who just wanted to have it. I too had my Storm running beautifully and really had no justifiable reason to make the switch.
BUT I am glad I did. the WiFi capability is a nice plus... the overall feel/responsiveness of the 2 is better. But the main reason I am glad is the huge, huge jump in on board memory. I have been adding apps like a mad man without once worrying about it. I say go for it. You can still have the BBampd theme ( I am using it now as well) and everything you like about your current Storm will be enhanced by the additional memory.

Get Storm 2. I have the rebooting problem as well but fixed after putting a piece of paper behind the battery cover to put some pressure on the battery.
