Default Problem loading apps to Rogers 8310

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying to use the latest desktop manager to load bb apps to my Rogers 8310 but get the error message "No additional application designed for your device found". Anyone else having the same problem?

I've never had occur with the 8300 or 8310. Have you tried resetting the BlackBerrry? If that didn't help maybe try wiping it and reloading the OS. Not sure what could be causing your BB to do that.

Are you using the .alx and .cod type files for installation using desktop manager? The .jar/.jad files are for loading via the BB's browser (or sometimes from the SD card if you can somehow get them and save them there)

I'm using the .alx. I had the same problem with the 8320 I had. I didn't have this issue with the 8300. Only the newer 8320 and 8310. It's like the desktop manager doesn't support the new phones.

I started the same thread on howardforums and two other ppl are having the same issue. One responded as follows "Hey I am having the exxact same problem. I contacted Rogers they said it was something to do with a bad handheld code and it isnt released yet. a couple of weeks wait which is sort of ridiculous. If you get any more info please let me know, It has been driving me crazy!!!"

Guys...the problem is you don't have the right software.

Download the Vodafone Newzealand 8310 Software Configuration from blackberry:

BlackBerry - BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites

Once you install that delete vendor.xml from:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

or
wait until Rogers releases the new firmware on there site.

Do you mean the desktop manager software (specifically?)

Thanks!

No, the link he posted has a different version of the Device operating system.

Pick 8310 from the drop down menu and go from there.

I'd rather stick to using the Rogers branded device firmware for now.

there is no difference whatsoever! you can unlock the themes and get the rogers theme as well

I spoke with RIM today and pretty much the answer was that rogers has the firmware they are just being lazy, should be out shortly.

Are you talking about the device firmware or the desktop manager?

^^ But which one works better? Sounds like the older Vodaphone device software is a better choice right now.

Yeah - downloaded the vodaphone version and it listed everything as a "downgrade" except some language support. Is .163 the best firmware for Rogers?
