Default 9780 urgent problem

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using an unlocked 9780 with Orange in Israel. Everything its working (email, bbm etc) but I can't surf the web unless i'm connected via WiFi. My service provider said they don't support OS 6.0 yet and I need to downgrade to OS 5.0. But after some research it seems that doesn't exist for 9780. Anyone can give me some advice on this? Cheers.

It's a case of your needing to load the generic service books for the browser from Orange Israel to your device.

There's an instructional here on doing that with the 9700. It's the same process.

These are the OS 5 instructions to resend your service books, try to do that on OS 6, they might not be exactly the same, but I am sure you can figure it out.

1. From Options->Advanced Options->Host Routing Table->menu key->Register Now->Ok. That will send the registration email and basic service books to your phone.

2. From either your carrier BIS site online, or from the Personal Email Setup on your phone, log in and hit help on the PC, or menu key on the phone to resend the service books. You'll receive an email for each email you have registered.

Matrix, I have a feeling this is more than just resending service books. It has been for others who are using an OS6 device on carriers who don't yet support OS6 device. The service book for the browser is different.

Right, I see, was just tryin' to help. Strange how carriers operate. I never had a problem with OS 6 although I instaled an early leak on my previous 9700

I understand you were trying to help. Of course, in this case it is not helpful.

Basically it is the same process as discussed in this link for using the ATT Torch on Tmobile.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...tethering.html

While it is the same process, you'll need to get the generic service books for Orange Israel using BBSAK, and then follow the process to install those to your 9780 BlackBerry.

Good luck.

Posting once is sufficient. Duplicate posts in multiple threads is bad etiquette. Threadjacking is just as bad.

Perhaps if you started your own thread and posed the question there, someone would help you out...
