Works great for me on TMO w/BES but no MDS so I have to disable MDS option set.

Try to configure the APN through TCP settings on the handheld?

This thread should explain how: http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=2185

Default tried the APN settings, no luck

I appreciate all of the help but still no luck. Still getting the "tunnel" error message. Does anyone have the 8700g with cingular that this actually works? Thanks again.

first, thank you for all of your work

second, when booting this app on my 7290 BIS tmobile, and after rebooting, I get the following error:

"Error starting BBCorrector: Class 'org.w3c.dom.Document' not found"

any thoughts?

My first thought is: try the Search button and enter "org.w3c.dom.Document" as the key words to search for.

After that...I'm thinking that I can summarize it for you...

Your BB is probably missing the XML module. Go to Options>Options - Advanced>Applications>Modules. Scroll down and look for net_rim_xml. It has been suggested that reinstalling your OS and selecting to install extra modules can solve this.

Do you have the Blackberry browser installed? On my 7250, the browser is dependent on net_rim_xml. When I connect my BB to my computer and open Application Loader and select Details>Modules for the Browser, net_rim_xml shows up as a dependency.

Update...one other thing to try before reloading the OS...

Are you installing from the OTA link or the desktop link? Try the desktop link. Open the alx file in notepad (or any other plain text editor). Near the bottom there is a line:
</fileset>
Below it, add a new line:
<requires id="net.rim.blackberry.xml"/>
Save it, then load it through the Application Loader. I am hoping that it will force your BB to load the XML package.

thank you very much for your thoughtful reply! a couple of hours ago, i got bored, reloaded the OS, and went to bed, that seemed to make the problem go away.

unfortunately, that has given me a new set of problems, although i have google maps local and an internet browser icon (signs that my internet connection is working properly) I now get:

"BB Corrector: Could not find a service book entry for IPPP"
when MDS is enabled

and

"could not open tunnel - failed"
when MDS is disabled

EDIT:

I got it working!
I guess when I reset the OS it wiped the APN settings, so when I redid those, everything was sexy as hell, and I threw a dance party in my room!

I had that problem back in January, here's what I did to fix it: http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...003#post162003

This person, though, says it did not work for them: http://www.blackberryforums.com/show...966#post165966

Since it worked for me, my recommendation is to try it.

And then, in BBCorrector...if you're not on a BES, then DisableMDS must be checked.

Edit:
Well, then, good. You fixed it while I was typing my above reply. I guess you don't need to delete the Service books after all.

Thumbs up It works great

After struggling for a month or more to get this to work I finally decided that the problem must be with my Cingular Account and after a ten minute call to "Mobile Data Support" where I requested WAP access, it worked flawlessly.

I am using this on an 8700 C, Bharti OS, BIS and my settings are:

TCP:

APN: wap.cingular
Username for WAP: [email address]
Password for WAP: CINGULAR1

Within BBCorrector I have all three boxes checked and entered "en" in the language box. Username and password are blank.

Great application, many thanks to tateau for all you work.

I have to chip in here, tateu, you did an AWESOME job. I've been showing everyone I know how BBCorrector works. Several BBSpell users tell me BBCorrector runs circles around BBSpell as far as speed of lookups.

Thanks again tateu and the original author, open source at it's best.

I just wanted to chime in and say that after shutting down and removing the battery it works like a charm.
Thank you for your hard work.

Default Thanks!

Just did an OTA installation of v. 1.2.1. Works great!

I'm on a BES, and I got the "tunnel" error if I had "Disable MDS" checked in BBCorrector. With that unchecked, all's well.

I apologize if this has been covered but I couldn't find the answer. BBcorrector was downloaded, I signed up on the site and pasted the secure server link but I don't see the option for spell check when I compose an email. Please help. Thank you.
