The US President has traditionally honored Confederate war dead on Memorial Day. Obviously there are critics of this tradition. There was a compromise this year. Read about it in the link below. Do you agree or disagree with this practice?

Ithe only thing I find offensive is the use of the word African before American. They are Americans only.

Agree with Dawg on that one. As far as the Confederate dead, I see nothing wrong with it. We are all Americans.

Memorial Day was birthed from a post-War Between the States ceremony of "decorating" the graves of the war dead and was first known as "Decoration Day". It was a Union holiday.
The former Confederate states recognized a day in late April as the Confederate Memorial Day and at least Alabama still does as state holiday.
If the President wishes to honor ALL our war dead, more power to him.
