Okay - I'm useless!

I want to upload music onto my BB but I have the latest Desktop Manager on the main menu or Roxio (which I saw mentioned somewhere).

If you have a microSD memory card you don't need Desktop Manager or Roxio. Enable Mass Storage Mode on the BB and then just copy and past the mp3's into the music folder on the BB.

I believe Roxio comes bundled with the latest Desktop Manager (4.5)

There are versions of DM 4.5 that DO and DO NOT include Media Manager. In Desktop Manager if you hve a "Media Manager" icon then you should have Roxio. Click on Media Manager and see what happens. If you don't have it then you got a version that doesn't include it.

...JC, is this something that is carrier specific - e.g. vzw does bundle it, while maybe tmo or att doesn't?

The 4.5 release was made by RIM. You can download your choice. Some people want it, some don't. Most of the carrier releases include MM.

You really don't need Roxio. John Clark gave you the best advice.

Be careful with copying to much at once to you SD. The BB will scan the card and that can freeze you BB for a uncertain time.

I have an 8GB SDcard and copied about 4 GB to it. It froze my BB for nearly a whole day. It looks that especially picture files (jpg etc....) can freeze it up.
