This is definately the 380 Beta. Nothing, absolutely, NOTHING has been fixed or improved in this Official Build/Release.
I have gone back to the 424 Beta and all is much, much better. Just a couple of glitches i can happily live with.
I just hope RIM don't release the old Beta 418 as the next Official Release. People will be leaving RIM in their droves!
God help us.......

Isn't this download link for Vodafone users only?Would it work if I use other carriers?

It's for all carriers. But do follow the directions exactly so it will work with your carrier.

I'm currently running 6.0.0.424 and the only issue I have is poor battery life and a sudden battery drop after 30%.
Was going to try the official .380 version even though i found the battery life on the leaked version terrible.

Now you guys have made me change my mind.

Am I correct in assuming there wont be any battery performance gain from downgrading from leaked .424 to official .380?

I'd stay away from the 380 version if i were you... i tried it for a day before installing 424... I'm having the same battery issues though... it goes from 30-40% to completely dead for no reason... it's extremely annoying but i was having the same issue on the last version of os5 that i was running.

I had the same issue with 424 and I downgraded to 418. From my own personal experience 418 has better battery life and it doesn't do the sudden battery drop. And the constant little black clock on 424 was quite annoying.

I inslalled final 380 a couple of days ago and absolutley NO problems whatsoever. Memory leaks but not as much as other builts, everything works fine, no freezes, battery is finally lasting more than a day (of hard use).... and NO, its not the exact same 380 that was leaked. lets start for the file size is alot smaller than the old one.
Just put it this way. if 424 is working for you, then stick to it!. if aint broken, don't fix it!

Wrong thread. This is for discussing the official release of 380 not a leaked version of 424.

Hi there

I am new to blackberry. So far my unlocked 9700 does not have wwifi and bluetooth connection (it does not work at all). I have downloaded the new OS to see if I can fix things (since there is no option to wipe out the phone completely). I am running Vista and I have no idea where is this so-called Compatibilty files. Is itr a file? If so, there is n such a file. I have tried loader.exe but there is no device, port or aything one can imagine. Does the phone hve to be connected via usb? It is but to no avail.

Any help?

Many thanks

Had problems with the first OS 6 leak but this one works practically perfect for now! I've only had it installed for a few hours but everything worked without a hitch, including restoration of all my apps and etc.

Can anyone give me a good reason to update to OS6 from OS5 other than it's a cooler looking interface and the browser is superior? I use Opera Mini on OS5 and find it to be very quick and useful. I'm not a big internet surfer to start with, so it's not all that important to me.

Seems like from the posts I have read people are willing to put up with the bugs and incompatibilities that currently exist and continue using OS6, so I know there must be something to that.
