Can this be used on a CDMA carrier like US Cellular?

Since Verizon is CDMA, I would assume that it would work on US Cellular.

Wirelessly posted (Tmo's cheapest BB customer)

I don't believe it can. CDMA phones are not the same as GSM. With GSM you can unlock the device and use it with any GSM carrier. Not so with CDMA phones.

The Storm is CDMA and GSM capable. See here:

BlackBerry Storm - BlackBerry Storm Details - BlackBerry Storm Specifications

Quote:
Wireless Networks

UMTS/HSPA: 2100 MHz
North America: 850 MHz GSM®/GPRS networks
North America: 1900MHz GSM/GPRS networks
Europe/Asia Pacific: 1800MHz GSM/GPRS networks
Europe/Asia Pacific: 900MHz GSM/GPRS networks
Dual-Band: 800/1900 MHz CDMA/Ev-DO networks
That dosen't necessarily mean you could use it with US Cellular though. They don't show the Storm in their website.

U.S. Cellular
They have a toll free number you could call though.

I called USCellular, they said that they won't even activate the Storm. There is a software conflict that they are not supporting it at this time. Oh well, cased Closed!!!

That is incorrect.
Cricket is now allowing some devices from other carriers. Others are sure to follow.

Welcome to the forums.

This is not the appropriate place to post this. You should have stated another thread.

What do you mean you locked the phone? Did you enter the incorrect code 10 times? If so, you're stuck. Nothing you're going to be able to do.

Check here:
How do I unlock my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

As I understand it, if you enter the incorrect code 10 times your device is permanently locked to the carrier.

This is not entirely correct. Sprint and Verizon both carry the 8330 and you cannot activate a Verizon 8330 on Sprint and vice versa.

As NJ stated, Cricket is one of the few CDMA carriers that does allow this currently.
