hey everyone,
when in the blackberry podcast app or just listening to music while using the oem headphones that came with my torch the device keeps switching between the headphones and device speaker constantly. if i use other headphones both applications work as expected

The oem headphones work fine while using the call function.

Anyone else having this issue or know why im having it?

Call function would be mono and podcasts/music are stereo. Sounds like a fault in the plug on your headset.

Well in my opinion RIM should be ashamed of themselves for including such garbage for headphones as what they've included with the Torch. Its no wonder they don't work right for ya ...... I refuse to even expell the necessary energy to remove them from the plastic package.

yea so ive given up on the blackberry headphones and i use my other for listening to podcasts and what not but now i get random pauses in what ever im listening to. then i have to stop and go back into the app to play it.

So you base them on being garbage from??? how they appear inside the wrapping?? no wonder they sound poor ;)

seriously though, im happy with them, they are better than the older sets they've provided with previous models, the sound appears to have a much wider dynamic range, they are very comfortable, secure in ear, and small+lite unlike previous versions. more than happy with as a "bundled" earphone set.

to OP, does sound like a problem phone side, does wiggling the plug in the jack cause this behaviour?

nope it happens instantly as i plug in my blackberry headphones, ive tried to wiggle and move the plug to get another outcome but no luck
