The "time circle thing" is the same as the hourglass. It should speed up.

Ok... What am I doing wrong?

This isn't the first time I've updated a BB OS. But it's the first time I've ever had this issue.

My AT&T 8310 is currently running 4.2.2.170 (Platform 2.50.30) My DM is version 4.6 B15

The only 3rd party apps I have onthephone (ATM) are WorldmateLive, PocketDay and PocketExpress

I've downloaded both the 4.5 version and the 4.2 version. And I get the same situation with both.

It checks the handset, backs it up and begins the install. It appears to be ticking right along, doing everything I expect it to do. Till it gets to the point where it says "Updating wirelessly installed applications" and just freezes.

Do I need to deselect the 3rd party apps?

Ok here is my problem.. I did the upgrade last night,The phone is owrking great i only noticed 3 problems. Oh I have an AT&T 8310.

1.No icon for BB Browser
2. When I go to mobile.blackberry.com it displays the page as if I went from my computer. Saying it needs to be viewed by a mobile device.
3. I set my theme Dimension BB Today Plus, every time my phone reboots, it forgets how I arranged my icons, making a huge mess of things.

Are these known problems, or did i do somethings wrong?

1 & 2: Go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table. Hit menu key (left of trackball) and select Register Now.

3. Common problem with the Today themes.

It doesn't matter where your cursor is... just tap Menu > Register.

It should give you the Browser icon now...

If you don't see it, remove the battery and reboot the BB.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

If you wiped the device first you lose your 3rd party apps. If you just do an upgrade, they will backup/restore.

You'll have to redownload them all.

I just installed 4.5 to my computer... deleted the Vendor.xml... but cannot get my BB to update.

I'm new to all this and very confused. How do I update the actual phone?

First, unplug your BB from the USB. Close Desktop Manager.

Make sure your USB is plugged into the rear USB ports of the PC, not a front port, not a USB hub or a monitor port.

Search your entire c: drive for "vendor.xml". Delete any instances of it.

Plug it back in, open DM and try again.

ok say problems 1. and 2. are fixed.

But problem 3 is still an issue, any time it reboots or even with a hard reboot (pulling battery) the icons still never stay they way i had them.
Can anyone help me fix this, it is rather annoying as you could imagine.

Try changing themes, and see if they stay set after a reboot.

Then come back to your current theme.
