Did you delete the vendor.xml file after installing the 5.0 release on your PC?

I have downgraded back to the 4.6 release as I found huge issues with battery life on many of the 5.0 beta releases If my battery was 60% or less when going to bed it was totally dead in the AM with wifi turned off and no apps running in the background. I'am assuming this is due to the fact I'm in a somewhat weak 3G zone where I live.
On 4.6 even with the Berry out of the case I only lose 10% max overnight. Until they fix the battery issues I'll stick with 4.6.

Reboots is getting annoying for me now on the .314, i cant find anywhere to download the .238. Any help would be greatly appreciated for a valid link. Seems like .238 is stable so far. Does it still have the threaded sms?

It's still out there, on megaupload, I think.
Yes, it still has threaded sms.

1. Re-install .314 (or whatever was your last OS version)
2. Remove the vendor.xml file, as usual.
3. When the red light goes out, and it starts booting up, start AppLoader, and click the checkbox for auto-locate. (NOTE: You cannot use Desktop Mangler for this, because it will not retry as frequently as you can make the AppLoader retry.)
4. When it finds the device, and puts your Bold's PIN in the dropdown box, click Next>> to initiate the install.
5. Don't be discouraged if the Bold reboots again, or seems to 'hang'. Let it work.
6. Keep trying until it works, which it will, eventually.
7. Uninstall v5.0.0.348, and never speak of it again.
I had my Bold set up good too, and now Viigo will not install from App World or their website. Dang it!

Same spot as vendor.xml
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
I too haven't seen the rebooting issue thus far. Maybe I just haven't noticed.

Did you ensure the auto check for updates was not installed during DM installation?

I've been running .348 for the past few days now on my Rogers unlocked 9000 and have had no issues at all. No random reboots or anything else.
I was running .314 before that, and had an issue with my BBM 5 icon suddenly disappearing on me. It was still listed as an installed app but had no access to it. After following various tips and tricks provided here, it still did not come back, so I decided to upgrade to .348.
One other thing I did notice when I did this step to .348 was that now I am running the enhanced gmail plugin. It's interesting but I'm not so sure I care much for that plugin though.
Otherwise, so far, so good.

BBSAK as a quick aid to managing OS loads

Here's a note for those that aren't sure how to work with the various tools that come with your BlackBerry. If you're not sure how to move around Windows or the cmd prompt or if you don't want to work with APPLOADER directly, I might suggest that you use the great little (free/donation-ware) tool called BBSAK [BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife]
You can learn about it, and pick it up here: RIMGeeks.com • View forum - Desktop Applications
Works like a charm. Make sure you back-up everything you can via both the Desktop Manager AND ALSO the BBSAK "3rd party application backup" routines. Everything else you can learn on the various reviews of this sweet little application or on the Rim Geeks website.

And - Are you loading the OS with the 5.0 DM? Yes, it is probably the vendor.xml. This may explain the incompatable nag screen...or your using a 4.6dm?

This is what I am having happen. Wifi off, 3G at full bars and bluetooth on. Just last night i went from a full charge to completely dead and turned off 8 hours later as I slept.
