Default 7280 vs 7290 (cingular)

Please Login to Remove!

hi guys, i'm new to this forum.

after my 7280 broke (damn trackwheel wouldn't press in . anyone else had this problem?), i got a 7100g.

now after playing with the 7100g for about three days, i realized the outdoor visibility and battery life issues are dealbreakers for me.

the question is, should i go back to a 7280 or 7290? is the battery life on the 7290 better/worse than 7280? how about the outdoor visilbility?

any help is appreciated. thanks.

(ps. you can also make an offer on my 7100g.)

I would think 7290 is a much better model than 7280. The screen in much brighter than that of 7280 model. The battery life is pretty decent. Added to that there is bluetooth as well as it is much faster than 7280. So I would personally prefer 7290. Also doesn't cingular have a replacement since it been just 3 days since you purchased the device?

thanks for the response. first off, i didn't buy from cingular so i can't return it. i got it off ebay

i know there are other features on the 7290 vs 7280, like bluetooth, but my # concern is battery life.

thanks for the feeback. anyone else have any other thoughts?

thanks

I would suggest the 7290. You will be much happier with the screen compared to the 7100. Battery life is about the same as the 7280 and should always be kept between 40%-80% charge for optimal battery life. I think that the major difference is the bluetooth and the 7290 is quad band giving better reception.

If your major concern is battery life the 7290 will have a shorter battery life then the 7280.

Bluetooth, quad band, double the memory and the dual stage backlighting. The 7290 is much better than prior 7200 series devices...

I had a 7230, not a 7280 and can honestly say I see no measureable difference. I tend to charge my BBs every night, since I get a ton of e-mail and don't like running the battery too low.

nj, thanks for the quick responses.

i would assume that the 7290 was relatively similar to 7280 in terms of battery life, and both the aforementioned are much better than 7100. am i right in this theory?

i like the ability to leave the office for the weekend and not worry about charging the phone.

thanks !!

I think your battery life depends on how you use the BlackBerry. If you use the phone a lot, there is no way you will last a weekend. If you are online chatting and the radio is going all day, you will not last that long. Just my experiences. Others may differ.

ok, point taken. let's assume all things equal

is it 7280>7290>>7100?

can anyone give a general quantification of this?
