To turn off predictive text:
options/language/input language: show text input options... deselect "predictive input". On that screen you can also turn off 'context learning', 'auto word learning' and 'learn words from email'.

Not sure what you mean when you wrote 'stop suretype' but go:
options/screen-keyboard/portrait view keyboard... there you can select suretype, full keyboard, multitap.

Default I tried

I already done that and still predicting when i write.
What i want is no more prediction, because i'm not writing in english, and he is predicting sh*t for me. I just want to type like o a 8820 keyboard, for "A" one click, for "B" two click on the same key.

hmm.. .please RE read my post above.. the part that begins with "Not sure what you mean when you wrote 'stop suretype'...." and look for the word M-U-L-T-I-T-A-P.

I'd like help on this too, pleeeease!
I managed to configure the multitap on "portrait view" and got the behavior adipopescu describes but NO WAY to do it on "landscape" (??, let's say, widescreen!) view it still tries to complete my words...

Both of you -- Options > Language > Input Style: click on Show Text Input Options > UNclick on PREDICTIVE.

and, SAVE.

I guess you should be better installing the proper language you are trying to write... Or is it street lingo? hehe

Changed mine to auto correct and works great. Of course the 2 options I had onder input style were word completion and auto correction.

Thanks for your advise, but you guys confirm what I was fearing... there is no getting rid of word completion on "widescreen view"...
I guess for "street lingo", I'll have to stick to the portrait view! It's just a shame there's no simple way of disabling this as there is in portrait view (menu key, then "Activate normal input"). Just a detail, though, cause I love BB Storm2 despite my huge paws!

Hi, I have carefully read every single post on this matter and have done everything what was suggested to turn off SureType but it is just not doing it. As I have to type in two languages all the time I do not want to have to switch between them so what else could I do? I know I could type in landscape mode but sometimes it is just not convenient for me. Please help before I get a headache. Thanks.
ups, just noticed that my model is 8900, have now purchased a storm2 9520

I would recommend to still use the 2 languages as myself I use also 2. My configurations are:
SureType in portrait.
No predictions
Word learning on
ENABLE QUICK SELECTION (this made a world of difference)

You should really give it a try.
