FlipSide Media Player...swwwweettt!
Please Login to Remove!
Has anybody tried the media player by FLIPSIDE...it's awesome. I could be a little late, as I've been really busy lately and haven't had a chance to check out any of my favorite forums.(especially this one)
I did an OTA download by going to:
http://flipside.fm/flipside.jad
Pretty cool. It searched for my music and added it to the player. This player let's you flip through the album art to get to the music you want...AND...if you don't have the art already on your BB, it has a cool feature that grabs the album art for you...SWEET!...check it out.

Ok, I installed it but it only found "Blackberry-Ringtones and will only play one ringtone. Is there some sort of trial version?

It found both my music and ringtones...I don't know how you have yours set up on your media card, but I have mine in a separate folder called "MUSIC"...not sure if that makes a difference.

Yep, so do I. It's all in the Music directory but all in separate, artist-named subfolders. Trying a battery pull.

I also downloaded and installed it today. I agree that it is awesome, I believe it is a Beta at this time.
It found all of my music and ringtones, I also have mine set up in seperate folders.

I have to say this about this application. It moves like the iphones software, very very smooth.

@john Have you looked into the ringtone folder that it found, some of my music is listed as Blackberry-Music and then listed in it, and
some are listed individually

Nope. Nothing there But "Blackberry-ringtones" at the top, a big blue Music Note and then "Blackberry-Classic." I can't change it to anything else.

I'm guessing that it doesn't support m4a audio files. Too bad....it's a nice looking app.

Was just going to say that. It's seeing all the mp3's just not the m4a files.
Oh well indeed. It does look really nice though, hopefully they add support for m4a?

Yeah, that one ringtone I downloaded a long time ago and it's an mp3 format. The rest of my music is m4a.

Awesome program, I posted a thread in the media forum (where this will be moved soon) asking for something like this a few months ago!
Works great, but it took forever to recognize the album art from 4gb of songs!

Moved to Media Center (Where I'm sure it will become a popular thread!)

I'm assuming that the unlocked version searches for more than 21 songs?

I didn't like it at all. The way it flips through a collection à la iPhone looks good, but actually using it is not a pleasure at all. It flips through too quickly, one's gotta be very slow and careful not to go right past what one wants. The controls aren't good. Adding songs to the playlist is awful. You have to press the trackball, but for how long? The visual feedback is very poor and I ended up adding the same artist's songs to the playlist 3 times. Which reminds me: that's how you add all the songs of a certain artist to the current (and only one possible) playlist, but how do you add one single song to the playlist? I have been unable to figure out. It's all or nothing. It takes a long time to search and index my small collection (currently a 128 Mb card). When it's done, my collection is awfully cluttered with countless ringtones. Why in the world would someone want their ringtones in a media player catalogue or playlist? Do people actually listen to ringtones during a workout or while riding a bus? And there is no way to go back a few/couple of seconds in a podcast or audio book. Oh, and the headset's play/pause button does not work.
Good looks, little substance.

It's still in beta. It does look promising, though.
