Default Radio Won't Stay On

Please Login to Remove!

dropped my phone, battery popped out.... Picked it up and put the battery back in...

Now the radio will not stay on. It will come on for about 30 seconds, in that time I can make calls, text, email, use data.... but then the radio goes "off". Any ideas on whats going on?

- already tried removing battery a few times.

There may be internal damage. Your best option is probably to take it back to the vendor and ask them to look at it.

The radio being on or off is completely controlled by the OS. It turns the radio on, and then monitors various parameters. If it finds something out of whack (no pun intended), it will turn it off again.

Not sure about Sprint, but my understanding is that no warranty in the world will cover physical damage. But, take it in and see what they have to say. The worst they can say is no, right?

I don't get why some people think it's ok to carry around a $400+ phone with no insurance. Then you want to whine about it when you drop it and it doesn't work. I don't feel sorry for you one bit.

Where does it say he doesn't have insurance?

Hey folks,
I'm new here and specifically joined to see what is going on with my BB Pearl. It has done this same thing with the "radio" being off and it is very difficult to get it back on. I've never dropped it, nor has the battery ever popped out, but to reset it, I had to take the back off and the battery out and it finally did reset. I wasn't even aware this device had a "radio"...it is very annoying when I can't make a phone call because it's turned itself off but is still technically on. I guess I need to go see Verizon but I know what they will say--that I am just out of luck. I would love to know how to troubleshoot this without feeling like I really want to sling this thing directly out of a speeding car! LOL. Someone with some expertise, please help!!

Thanks so much!

It may very well be damaged internally-but before seeking repair or replacement, try cleaning the battery contacts on both the phone and the battery itself.
