Hi

I just got a 16GB card for my bold. I am trying to copy videos (mp4) into the bold using Roxio media manager.
If I try to copy a movie of about 650 mb the copy fails consistently after about 40% of copying.
I managed to copy small video of about 25 mb.
Is there a known issue with copying large videos into BB? Do they need to be converted into a format before copying? Any help on this will be appreciated.

find your memory card in my computer. look and see what type it is... FAT, FAT32, or NTFS?

It must be formated either FAT32 or NTFS because if the card is 16GB then FAT AKA FAT16 can only support up to 2GB. but even FAT32 can support 4 GB so unless your file is bigger then 4GB you shouldent have to worry.

To check to see place the card in a card reader
Open My Computer
Hold alt and double click the media card (This bring up properties)
You will see file system listed and it will have NTFS or FAT32

If it is FAT32 and you are trying to place a file bigger then 4GB on it you will need to format it NTFS. if you want to do this do the following

Put the card in your computer
open my computer
rightclick and select format
Chose NTFS from the file system type drop down and format away. (not back up your files first)

Also I use the mass storage mode insted of roxio. I found everything to be to slow with roxio. Drag and drop with mass storage.

You need to enable MVS in order to copy the mp4 file on the media card. Mobiola makes a great DVD conversion software.

Thanks for the reply. I formatted the card to NTFS but when I put the card back in BB it says the card is not formatted and when I format it, it goes back to FAT32. Is there a way I can make the BB recognize the NTFS format or make it format in NTFS?

I forgot to mention that the movie I am copying is less than 1 GB, so technically it should work but when I try to copy into FAT32 card it does not like it. It says that there is not enough space.

What is MVS? Any freeware to convert mp4 to blackberry?

Mobiola Video Studio Pro and Handbrake can be used to convert DVD to MP4. Mass storage mode is necessary to copy or add MP4 files that can be 0.5 - 2.5 GB or larger as movies tend to be large files.
