Default "Automatic backlight off" controls don't seem to be there anymore!

Please Login to Remove!

I went through all the instructions in Help, read all books, etc., trying to turn off the automatic backlight function. Went to Screen and Keyboard section of the Settings/Options, and it only mentions backlight brightness, backlight timeout, LED coverage indicator......and nothing else. Am I missing something? I recently upgraded to the latest software for Cingular by updating from one of the sites mentioned in the forum. Is it possible that the new OS does not carry this feature anymore and the backlight is now all the time on automatic?
Thanks for any advice!

I found the answer to another thread in this forum It seems that BB inactivated this feature in the firmware upgrade. Anybody knows why? Would have never done it if I knew this would happen.

Yes they did disable the function, many people post threads about should they upgrade and we always say if you want you auto dim function off they don't upgrade. Don't know why they done it, maybe to encourage users to use the function but possible solution? Downgrade... or bust your sensor.

This has been talked about 493,857 times. We're hoping that RIM will get the message and put the feature back in a future update.

No way. How do I load ringtones onto my BlackBerry? Either with or without a data plan. My #1 by far.
