In options-mobile network, it says available networks are verizon wireless H. It used to say 1xEV. It still shows connected to 1xEV by the signal meter and data speeds are just fine. Anyone know why it says H now? Been that way for over a week.

My Verizon 8830 still shows 1XEV. I also have the selections of GSM and Global. I wonder if this is just an 8330 thing?

Have you guys tried dialing *22899, this will reprogram the BB and update the cell towers. BTW this is for VZW only

on my pearl it says 1XEV, but in my called list next to the name it will either show a "H" or a "W"...what does a "H" or a "W" mean?

I think that's H for Home and W for Work.

My 8130 says the same thing.. Never reall checked before though, lol...

I just looked at my wife's curve over the weekend and it says H, but my 8830 has the traditional home and automatic......weird

Mine also says H. I belive it just means its on the "home network" and not roaming...

...i think that means you are on VZW's 3G network. Lite, I think its called...

If it says H then you are on HSDPA on a non-CDMA network.
It you are on an 8330 CDMA, then it means Home only and you cannot roam.
