My blackberry pearl is really acting wierd...when I push the previous button it just opens up random apps...when I push the SYM key it just puts a * on the screen and don't open symbols..when I push the space key it wont space but puts a 0 on the screen...when i push the # key it puts a # on the screen. Also when I'm trying to send a message and push a key it won't put the letters I pushed it puts up multiple letters on the screen. I did the wipe handheld and it did nothing but make me loose everything. What do I do to fix this? I haven't dropped it or got water on it so I don't know what the problem is. PLEASE HELP ME!!! Thanks
I was using it when it started messing up. It was working fine before that. I thought that maybe a button accidentally got pushed and messed with the settings or something...and it only does this when I'm in messaging. I can add stuff to my address book just fine and other applications but it acts wierd when I'm messaging...

No, I can almost guarantee it got wet. That's what they do when the keyboard gets wet. Remove the battery and drop it in a bag of uncooked rice (not minute rice, but real rice) overnight and see what happens.
Most of the newer blackberries have a moisture indicator. If you pull the battery out you'll see a small square that's either white or red. If it's red that means that it's most likely suffered some type of moisture damage. Best bet is like they've said put it in some rice for a day or two and see what happens.
...you accidentally turned the multi-tap function on. typically, if you press and hold the "#" key and then press the shift key, you enable a word editing feature that allows you to enter multiple numbers sequentially without having to press shift first (e.g. - like trying to type in a phone number without pressing shift after each number).
to turn it off, you need to go into options > language and change input language back to English (US) (as opposed to English (US - multitap)) or whatever you preferred language is.
