I've had an 8100 since they first came out. An amazing little berry in every respect! (I'm moving on to a Bold now though... just for something new.)

I had the 8130 and thought it was great, the only reason I went with the Curve is the bigger screen.

I had a Pearl 8100 when AT&T rolled it out in December 2006. I upgraded to the Pearl 8110 in June. The Pearl is great, it packs a powerful punch. I love the small form factor.

Now, I really like the Bold, but not sure if I am brave enough to go to a bigger device.

I rate it bad simply because of no qwerty keyboard---its way too small.

I'd give my 8130 3, and I feel that's stretching it. I went through 5 pearls between November '07 and this past August.
I've had a major issue where my Pearl would shut down the BB Messenger or text messages while I was typing.
I sent two of them back for radomly resetting themselves.
Two of them would show a blank screen when I would hang up a phone call while using my bluetooth earpiece.
When I would type it would regularly hang up on a word (the autotype word guess thing) and then when I finished typing, it would erase the word. After two or three attempts, it would shut the program down.

The only answer I recieved, as to why this was happening, from Verizon was (your all gonna love this)....

I actually use the device to its capacity. Yup, Verizon CSR told me that it was because I use all of the features of the phone that it doesn't work, as it is designed. Also, that if I didn't use it so much, I wouldn't have these issues. I had to go over her answer with her, just to make sure I heard her correctly. I thanked her, hung up, and called back, the new CSR apologized and sent me an 8330.

I've had an 8130 for about 6 months now and I love it!! It's the form factor that does it for me.

I have the 8100 with 4.5.0.69 and I love it. It is my first berry though. I think the wider phones may be to bulky for me. Maybe not. Bottom line I give it a 10! Love My Pearl!!!

It's my first Blackberry, and I've had it since the first part of the year. It is the first cell I've had that actually met all my needs, and then some. Simply put, it's an awesome piece of electronics.
But I have to say, now the Bold is calling me, and I think I'm going to it for a Christmas present for myself. The bigger screen is the main reason, but just its look is a plus.
You know what they say though..............you never forget your first love.

Same here and I love mines. I rate it a 9 out of 10 as I now would like an 8300. Only thing I'm not liking right about now is the keys....need qwerty for quick texting. Still love my Pearl!!

I started out with the 8100,hated it.
To the Curve, loved it.
Gave 8100 another chance, started to fall in love.
Recently upgraded to the 8120,and I am in love. Haven't touched my Curve since, lol.

8/10 for me.
1st BB. Using it for about 3weeks! Coming from a HTC Touch WinMo device (Used it for almost a year)

Cons
- Low, low, very low memory.. Hey, we are in 2008... Why dont put in 64Mb more of memory... I dont care paying the device $40-50 more... It's totally BS that you have not more free memory
- Suretype... Well, it's not that bad tough... I prefer having a small device with suretype than a bigger one with a full qwerty keyboard as I dont write a lot of stuff..
- No way to reboot but removing the battery... A reset button like WinMo devices would have been good or a software shortcut...
- Battery life is not as good as other BB I think but not that bad
- I would like to be able to disable the "dial from home screen" and be able to use shortcuts like on the Curve
- EVDO seems really slow when compared to my Touch
- For all BBs : Not as much 3rd party software as WinMo
- For all BBs : Need BES for 100% Exchange sync (WinMo supports it built-in)

Pros
- Size... so small...
- Look
- Suretype... it's in the cons but also in the pros...
- Most 3rd party Softwares are really good when compared to some I used on WinMo.. There is less of them but they are better for the most.
- Really good voice performances ... sound is clear and loud
- Good media player
- 2x hardware shortcut buttons you can customize
- Camera is OK

That's it !
