Angry Verizon bluetooth headset for a BB 8703

Please Login to Remove!

I have a verizon blackberry 8703 and am trying to find a bluetooth headset from verizonwireless.com
I have tried the Plantronics PBT330Z. I hate how the hard plastic sticks into your ear and I could still not hear it.
So now I'm trying the LG LBT710 and its crap too. I cannot turn up the volume loud enough. I cannot use it in a car or even walking around outside. Is this a blackberry problem or does bluetooth headsets just suck?
And unfortuently yes I have to buy it from verizonwireless.com

I have the Verizon Plantronics 320 and it is great! Can't say that all are bad. I've had the original Bluetooth Jabra which was not as good as this one.

From what I have read on the forums the RIM Blackberry HS-655 is supposed to be pretty good.

RIM Blackberry HS-655 Bluetooth Headset + Charger (US), #HDW-12747-001_US - MobilePlanet Inc.
Attachment 6241

Try either the plantronics voyager 510 or Jabra 250v, both are loud as they go inside the ear. Between the two, the Jabra is the best IMO.

Suggest you reconsider buying anything branded by Verizon.

Check out the Plantronics Voyager 510. Lots of volume to spare (I can use it in my convertible with the top down), and the ear pad is not too terribly obnoxious. Don't know if Verizon sells them, but you can easily find them in office supply stores.

If you do end up having to buy something from Verizon, watch for language on the receipt that increases your service contract term if you sign it (even if the receipt is for $0 for a headset exchange). Both Verizon and AT&T Wireless tried to pull that trick on me for purchases that had nothing to do with ordering service (i.e. a receipt for a $5 ac adapter had language at the bottom that agreed to extend the service contract for another year, and I'm not kidding).

I'd also recommend the Plantronics Voyager 510 but it's tricky recommending BT headsets as you have to not only consider performance but fit as well. The latter is definitely a very subjective matter.

There's a ton of information/recommendations/reviews on BT headsets on this site and I recommend reading up. Be sure to look for comments on how well callers on the other end can hear you because very few reviews address this and this is a shortcoming on many headsets (I've never found a decent Motorola headset in this regard).

I have a Motorola E85 that is easy to use but hard to hear... the headset kind of sits off your ear a little bit.

I just got a jawbone this week and I really like it. The noise canceling tech gives it a leg up on any other headset I've used, the sound quality is good and it rests in your ear like an ear bud, which some people may not like but I think it feels a little more secure. Expensive but worth it for me, I spend a ton of time in the car. I've only had it for 2 days though, so take this with a grain of salt.

I have a Samsung WEP-200 and I think it is the best... I would also use the H500.

I just purchased the Jawbone. It is awesome. It works just like it is demonstrated on their website www.jawbone.com. I am a service tech working in all kinds of conditions, and this was a perfect solution.
