I say UNBOX it, do the keyboard tweak, and then complete the wireless upgrade to OS .75.

When you are done, then you can kneel and thank your lucky stars!

I was in the same place you are last week. Then I started to read some of the threads and found suggestions in the set up to make this work so much better and of casue the new .75 upgrade helped.

I WILL NOT return mine.

Why you ask, well it is a learning curve that's all. Like when I got my first BB, took me time to aquaint myself with the unit. Now I almost got my typing speed back up, so now I

Unbox that beast! Give it another shot.

Upgrade to the .75 release, tweak the Screen/Keyboard settings (I use: Tap Interval 500, Hover Period 800 or 1000, and Swipe Sensitivity 6).

You will be surprized at the difference. I was frustrated at first myself, but it did not take long to settle in.

I also had a 8830, and the first day I had the Storm, I HATED it. I was ready to pass it along to someone else. Once I got home from work and could concentrate on it without interruptions, it's just as intuitive as the other Blackberry models. The next day, I upgraded it to .76, and haven't looked back.

i still feel it's a technology that isn't going to take off. most 'professional' reviews have been grim. although it's a blackberry and a lot of good can be said about blackberry with respect to OS upgrades as well as functionality, Surepress is not something that can be drastically improved with OS tweaks....

Alpine's Pulsetouch technology would have been the way to go....but i guess there would be licensing issues with that....

what's wrong with having a physical key instead of a virtual one anyway ? the Bold is a fantastic phone, imo....
just because apple puts a new technology on the table, it doesn't mean that everyone has to drop what they're doing and look (or buy)....
