Default Why can't I put more than 1 bold on enterprise server???

Please Login to Remove!

Our company has an enterprise server in which only 1 of 4 Bolds is "allowed" supposedly because the president has messaged blind carbon copied to himself but once we attempted to add another bold to the server the new bold was receiving his bcc messages. (This can't happen for obvious reasons.)

With that said the other 3 guys with bolds in our company have to manually enter in contacts, appts, etc because our IT company says they can't be on the server as well because of the blind carbon copied option on the president's email.

Is this true? And if so, how can I fix it? Do we need to purchase an extra license, server, etc?

Thank you for your help!

I think it has a little more to do with the mailbox you are activating the device on, rather than the device model.

sounds like you need a new admin

Default Can you elaborate?

Can you explain more about the mailbox I'm activating on the bold? Are their specific options that should be checked that I can look for? Any help would be great, I'm not tech savvy....

Wait, so on the BES, he has a setting that BCCs all mail? That's the setting we're talking about? And if so... why? That setting is for logging/auditing purposes - it's not supposed to be set to a BB enabled mailbox - it should be a separate mailbox.

I agree, the IT Company has no idea what it's doing...

he has a bcc on the mail he sends out back to himself, because its easier for him to keep track of things when hes travelling.

how can we set it up that he can still be bcc'ed on his own things, but other bolds can't receive those messages if they become part of the enterprise server.

Again, still not getting the BCC part - you can see all of your sent messages on your BB. By default - you have to go out of your way to hide them. And even when you hide them, you can still access them. So... retraining of the president of how to use a BB is required.

despite his personal preferences, is there a way to set up the phones or server that all of the employees with the bold can be on the enterprise server?

This isn't about personal preferences, ask him what he wants to be able to do without using techno mumbo jumbo. He wants a copy of every email he sends? He already has that without using a BCC function that was never intended as a means of BCC'ing yourself. Now I am assuming that's the function he's using (the one I described), which is totally the wrong way to do it.

Anythings possible!

The Bold's should all be able to connect independently to the BES. You need a new IT company if they can't figure that out.

dynamicintl2009, of course you can have multiple BlackBerry devices on one BES server. Now, where is this information coming from where if you add a device then that device suddenly starts receiving the president's email. That is simply not the way it works unless something is VERY VERY strange and wrong in your environment.

All you do is activate your own email account on the bes, you nor the president wiill receive each others email. And if your president wants a copy of all his sent items, tell him to look in his sent folder?

That depends on the number of licenses you have. For example, if you have 5 BES user licenses you can setup 5 users, no matter if they have Bolds, Storms, Curves or whatever.

BES syncs mails per user, so if you add a second Bold for a different user (= different e-mail address), he will not get any BCC messages directed to your CEO.

Agreed. We have 4 Bold users on our BES. No problems with any of them. Activated them just like any other Blackberry.
