Default yahoo mail

i'm guessing that you have POP3 access with your small business account with Yahoo b/c a regular free account does not have this...it's a paid service now...

if you don't get it to work you can try using this program, YPOPs...it's been working great for me for a few months now...

You can also have your emails forwarded from Yahoo mail into your boss' blackberry email address. Because it is a paid Yahoo mail, I believe it is free from spam.

I'm not sure about Yahoo's business email, but for standard users, you cannot POP free email accounts unless you pay for Yahoo Plus email. When you configure the Blackberry to fetch your Yahoo mail, you're essentially doing a POP transaction - so if your Yahoo mail doesn't support POP, it won't work.

Yahoo! business class email supports the POP3 protocol. So just double check your settings it should work fine. If you still can not get it to work, let us know.

I just got my 7100g and don't know if I want to upgrade to Mail Plus since Yahoo is one of the 4 email accounts I use. However I still get a decent amount of important emails coming through there. If anybody has a step by step guide on how to configure YPOPs (http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/) to work with a BB 7100g that would be great. Thanks.

Why not just use the html browser and log into your Yahoo account?

Because it is slow and defeats the whole purpose of having a blackberry which is...seemless, touchless, instant push e-mail with NO user intervention.

Default BB POP Email Access - How does it do it?

I have a complex question that I am not sure can be answered?

I have a friend that has a Treo 650 with Cingular [I know ] and he is trying to access our corporate email server via a POP email client which requires that he know the mailserver name (inbound & outbound) to make the connection. Our IT group does not offer this information for various reasons.

The confusing part is that I have a BB 7100 also with Cingular and have used the Web Access client to access our corp email server without the mailserver information (All I need to enter is my email address, Network ID & Password). Can anyone explain how BB is accessing our mail server without knowing its name?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thx
MC
